Yesterday, with the full support of council behind them, members of Holy Family voted unanimously to adopt a more inclusive welcome statement. This is our last major step to becoming a Reconciled in Christ (RIC) church – one that is fully affirming and welcoming of LGBTQIA2S+ people and committed to racial equity in our community. It doesn’t mean we are finished on this journey, but that we are committed to continuing to shape our community and our lives in the way of God’s expansive grace, justice and love for all people. Thanks be to God!
“Holy Family believes that we are all created in God’s image, holy and dearly loved, and we welcome all people to come as they are to celebrate God’s love and grace.
We invite and embrace all persons regardless of age, race, ethnicity, family structure, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, economic background, political affiliation, physical or mental ability, cultural traditions, faith history, or life experience.
We commit ourselves to the work of racial equity and to being a safe place for everyone to explore their faith journey. As God loves us, we love one another.”
